'Sabbath day' in the Bible

Moses gave you circumcision, (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers,) and you circumcise a man on the sabbath-day.

If a man receives circumcision on the sabbath-day, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I have restored the entire man to health on the sabbath-day?

Then the Jews, as it was the preparation, that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for that sabbath day was a great day, besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken down.
